My wife just got back from shoe shopping (damn Imelda effect) and saw a young woman walking in circles in the parking lot staring at he phone.
Saw on the news that the app allows access to all google accounts, what ever that means.
"The
app had the power to access your Gmail, your Google Docs, your Google Photos, as well as track your location history, your search history, and more. And this was in addition to the app’s already necessary high-level access to things like your current location, camera, and phone sensors, which are needed for gameplay."

Pokemon GO is starting creating a world that is like from "Police Academy 5". I mean look at this

I can't find clip from PA5 when newscaster is playing videogame during news because whole world is bewitched with playing this game.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Anyone know what's going on with this Pokemon go thing? It sounds hilarious in a way.
People are trying to get in police stations, churches and so on for these Pokemon things.
Other people are finding dead bodies in rivers and encountering drug deals while searching for their Pokemon.
It sounds like a pretty fun game if I was 14 again and had enough time to waste.
I've downloaded it and it's quite fun actually but I haven't played much, like 10 minutes in total. However, I never watched or played Pokemon when I used to watch cartoons etc.

I don't even like Pokemon but the technology seems like it could be put to better use for future games.
I was thinking it would be better if there was a game where the players are the ones who leave things I'm real locations rather than these game designers doing it.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

I've invented a new version of Pokémon Go.
I call if Pokémon Fuck Off You Annoying Little Pricks!

My wife tells me that there was a report of two guys in CA falling off a cliff while playing. Unfortunately no fatalities.

That's a nasty joke but I did laugh so I had to give it kudos, that's one of my rules.
