I was born in Cumbria, England.
It was there that going to the church on a Sunday was about as normal as the Sunday dinner you had directly after church. It was the thing that connected the whole town of Harrington. Everybody knew everybody because they saw each other every Sunday. It must be obvious that I was raised as a Christian with absolutely 0 % doubt that there was a God and I was going to heaven or hell, Purely because there was no other option. I had brought up with the teachings that god exists as a FACT!
It was then that around my 9th we moved to Denmark where I was in an international school. It was here that I experienced allot of mixed races and especially cultures. It was then that I learned that believing in god wasn't the only choice in life.
After living there for 2 years we moved to Holland. I joined the Zeeland boys choir and after my voice dropped I was a Altar boy. I liked both the choir and the altar boy jobs as they where filled with rituals that i considered fun. It was after stopping this at an age of around 16 that I watched a documentary on the sexual abuses within the Catholic church. It scarred me in my religious beliefs. How could there be a god that let his servants (the pope and Vatican) protect child abusing ****heads. It was then that I renounced my faith as a Christian.
After 2 years of being a militant atheist, Inviting Jehovah in to my house just to take the edge off all of there arguments on the proof of gods existence. It was after about 5 Jehovahs that I realised they were all saying the same stuff to explain there arguments. They didn't have anything to say that came from there own minds. I learned there that they just didn't promote any free thought whatsoever. It was from then that I Considered religion to be nothing but pure brainwashing.
One thing I did miss was the rituals of the Catholic church, not the catholic rituals, but just rituals by themselves. After searching the internet on different religions, just for fun, I found the satanic bible. I read it and felt at home in nearly everything. I've been an extremely happy Satanist since that day.
So
What do ya think
Cheers,
Decsel
