Surgery and prayer...... and conspiracies.

RE: Surgery and prayer...... and conspiracies.
The chaplain at my job approached me wearing a huge smile not too long ago, saying "Good morning! Where can I find Mr. So-and-so?"
I stared at him a moment and said...

"He's dead...He died 2 days ago." So desperately, I'd wanted to respond with "The morgue."
He appeared crestfallen, but quickly stated that he'd meant the family of So-and-so.

Yeah...okay, Dude. Rolleyes

Oh and for those with elderly parents with mobility problems after a surgery, don't take shit from the hospital about discharging them quickly, if you as a child of an elderly parent, like me see your mom like I do several times a weak when healthy, only you, not the hospital know the environment they can handle. The hospital tried to dump her out early, and while other procedures she's bounced back quickly, each one is different. So this time I knew she would need more time, so when they tried to dump her out on me I chewed them out. Don't be afraid to question or challenge.

My mom is in rehab now, still lucid has her marbles, but it is frustrating to watch not knowing if a problem is minor or major not knowing when to step in. Every time she has a health issue or surgery I second guess myself either way. She is mentally a much stronger person than me. Even just trying to get her to drink water or juice is a concern which I know she needs to do more of and the aids and nurses tell her to do so too. I know I ultimately cant tell her what to do, I still get frightened by anything even if it is in reality small. My mom is everything to me and I just want her to get better.
