What OS are you on?

Anyway it's finished. 2 objects found one of which is 'opencandy' which I already knew was bad cos it's the stuff that tries to install whenever you install something from sourceforge or whatever. I'd like to check the creation date on the other one to see if it's recently created. It says pup.optional.installcore... path... icc.dll... mean anything to you?
Removing them has not made any difference

First, in your chrome address bar type
chrome://net-internals/#dns then hit "clear host cache", Select "sockets" from the top drop down and clear any socket pools, if any then close all browsers Open up your cmd as administrator (start menu -> cmd -> right click and select run as admin) type: ipconfig /flushdns Quote:To know yet to think that one does not know is best; Not to know yet to think that one knows will lead to difficulty. thanks iggy... I've just tried internet explorer... haven't used that in years... and it's lightning fast in comparison. So it's definitely a problem with Chrome.

The BEST antivirus is to create another user for yourself and setup a parental control on it, allowing to be used all the legitimate executables like nvidia/amd control panels, media players, browsers and so on. I've setup parental control on my sister's computer about a year ago and since then I didn't have to reinstall Windows - not even once. The best part is that no malware addons or toolbars can be installed because parental control won't let those executables to be started. A year later her OS runs like freshly installed because of that parental control. And she's what we call a "tech baboon" (meaning she knows computers as good as I speak Martian). I've tried all sorts of AV softwares, firewalls and stuff but the only thing that protects her computer (and my nerves as well) from malware and viruses is parental control. It takes time to add all the legitimate programs but once you do it you'll forget about AV software. Without parental control I used to reinstall her Windows three times a week. ![]() |
