Looks like Trump ran into an open knife. Pissing on the vets during your campaign doesn't seem to be a good idea.

Er..do you recall when he shit-talked McCain for being a POW, then insulted ALL POWs?  That was at the beginning of his campaign.  That would be a death sentence for literally any other candidate's campaign, imaging Obama saying that.

Nothing he can say will drive away the Trump-lovers, it only thickens the gap between him and moderates.

I'm not so worried about the "Trump lovers", if it's enough for him to alienate the mainstream, that's enough. I suspect the Hillary campaign is already compiling the Trump anti-veteran blooper reel to run on prime time TV near November. That's deadly stuff.

I would hardly say Trump 'Blasted him' I haven't gone over every tweet with a fine tooth comb, so I could be wrong and news reports really aren't very specific on what exactly what so insulting. I think this was probably a bait on the part of the DNC, get a muslim who's son died, have him insult Trump fully and try to provoke a response. No matter what the response was (it seemed to be pretty mild for Trump) crucify him in the press. We really just shouldn't care about this kind of stuff.

If collectively we cared less about non-issues like this, we'd never get a candidate like Trump to start with.

Trump suggested the man wouldn't allow his wife to speak. An aide has suggested that his son was secretly a terrorist and that American lives may have been saved because he was killed before he could carry out his nefarious plot. Maybe my threshold for what should be considered 'blasting' is lower than yours.

So really what you have Trump saying is that his wife wasn't allowed to speak. Also he didn't say that the man didn't allow his wife to speak, just that she wasn't allowed to. I assumed he meant by the DNC, but either way, big fucking deal. That's the total of what Trump said. Hardly blasted. In fact it's hardly anything at all.

Compare that to voting for the war that killed his son, I think there is some misdirected anger here.

What is up with people and their overreaction to what Trump says? Trump said that McCain wasn't a war hero for being shot down. His total 'insult' to POWs was saying 'I like people who weren't captured' which was still being directed to McCain specifically. Full quote:

"He's not a war hero," Trump said. "He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren't captured."

"Perhaps he's a war hero, but right now, he's said bad things about a lot of people,' Trump added.

So he said that he's not a war hero, well maybe he is, but he's been shit talking me.

Yet the media runs with the story, which supposedly rational Atheist forum people believe "Trump insults POWs" or "Trump viciously attacks Khan family" If you go back to the source, which you would think Atheists would do, you find out that it's barely anything.

There are plenty of reasons to not like Trump, I'm not voting for him because he's not qualified to be president. There is no reason to totally make up stuff that he said to not like him.

If it's an insult, it's a pretty minor one and obviously he was talking about McCain, who he said might be a war hero two seconds later. Considering that veterans and active military prefer Trump over Clinton by wide margins, (https://morningconsult.com/2016/05/26/po...p-clinton/) You can say that plenty of people didn't consider it an insult either.

I think that's the only thing that really matters. Not 'Trump tweeted this' or 'Trump said someone's wife wasn't allowed to speak.' Those are total non-issues.

Trump isn't qualified to be president. He doesn't know how the government even works. He doesn't know anything about governmental bureaucracy. He doesn't get along with either parties in congress. He's not even aware of the powers and limitations of the office of president. Those are the things that matter. Yet predictably people are focused on completely irrelevant stuff and aren't even correct about that most of the time.
