The Kralingse bos has always been a meeting place for gays and doggers (look it up if you don't know and want to what that is). The reason they keep separate zones is no one makes advances to the wrong gender if you will. Also they keep the zones more remote as the Kralingse zoom and Kralingse Bos is also a spot where families go to for a bbq or day out in the sun, a bit like central park in New York.

Again, there is no issue with the idea, I've not heard a single voice in Holland thinking this is a bad idea. I just found the sign funny, that is all. Jeez.

Chalk it up to cultural differences. I thought the sign was funny too. I just find it exceedingly strange that they have sex zones in your woods.

I wouldn't be that concerned about someone from the wrong gender hitting on me. I would just say no thanks. I wouldn't be like "Dude, I am so sick of lesbians hitting on me. That's it! We need a separate zone for them." The whole thing is rather funny.

Yes, and a separate nude beach, and a workzone for prostitutes as well. They made a separate zone as there was hindrance of tourists visiting the Kralingse Bos and running into people having sex.

Okay, I admit the the intent is admirable, and the plan in itself is sound.

The city council has ordered marker poles for a meeting place for gays in the Kralingse bos, a forest near my place. The idea is that any gay person that wants to get its rocks off in the forest can do this within the zone. But somehow they missed the dynamics of gay sex.

Maybe if one of the guys was blowing another...

When I was in Amsterdam I saw these nice ladies modelling underwear in their large front windows. They made rude gestures when I took a photo.

A lot of Dutch people leave their blinds open at night. You can see into their house/flat.


I liked Holland a lot. I used to watch a Dutch sitcom called "Zegnst Ah" ("Say Ah"(spelling?) I liked it because of what it revealed about Dutch social attitudes.
