Again, The Orange Baboon
RE: Again, The Orange Baboon
John Oliver asks Trump to drop out.

Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

This might deserve its own special thread but Grump has been involved in over 4,000 lawsuits in the past 30 years, either as a plaintiff or defendant.
So Melania's lawsuit - which is actually Grump's own crybaby lawsuit in her name - is just one more to add to the cases that have undoubtedly funded a good portion of the legal industry since the 1980s.

Also, when Grump loses the election, you can be sure he'll sue everyone in sight including probably Melania and his children.

That is, if he doesn't drop out or fake an injury before election day.

Quote:Melania Trump to sue Daily Mail for reporting she worked as an ‘escort’ before marrying her husband

I don't see where she has much of a case.  The Mail article, which is contained as a link in the story, indicates the sources used and at one point even notes that there is no evidence to back up the claims of a Slovenian magazine.  They even print the denial of her former pimp....er, I mean the head of her "modeling agency."

Quote:Donald Trump told NBC he could do ‘The Apprentice’ from the White House: report

Quote:Donald Trump reportedly told an NBC Universal executive that he could continue his show “The Apprentice” if he ran and was elected to the White House.
According to a June Vanity Fair report that The Hill notes went largely ignored until the reporter did an interview this weekend on The Takeaway, Trump asked show executives if they wanted to put the kibosh on his run for president.
“[NBCUniversal Chief Executive Steve Burke and Trump] outlined, presumably fantastically, that Trump should run for president; and on the off chance that he won, he would continue to star in ‘The Apprentice’ from within the White House,” the report cites a 2011 conversation. But Burke returned to Trump’s office admitting that he didn’t want Trump to run.

He obviously has a very clear and accurate picture of life in the white house doing the job he seeks.  Twit.

Trump has taught her well.

"You don't sell products, benefits or solutions -- you sell feelings." Right out of the Trump University playbook.

It's not about reality. It's not always about whether you succeed or not. It's about perceptions. Can I make people feel a certain way? Even if I don't win this lawsuit, can I damage the reputation of this organization I'm suing, or cost them money?

There are hundreds of thousands of Trump asshats that will never buy the Daily Mail or visit the website because of a perception he creates by suing them. He has lawyers on retainer. It's not going to cost him a penny more to sue. But if he can take a few bucks out of someone's coffer just by doing it, even if he knows he's going to lose the suit--he wins.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Libel law in the UK works on the basis that the defendant is "guilty until they prove themselves innocent". All the plaintiff has to do is bring the case and let the defendant sweat it out. And simply reporting that somebody else said X can be grounds to find that you defamed someone if the original comment is itself considered defamatory.

Expect the case to be quietly settled.

The stupidest thing about Drumpfuck suing the Heil is that it's his kind of paper. Hates immigrants, check; hates poor people, check, hates the gay, check; hates every religion apart from protestantism, check; hates anyone to the left of Hitler, check; hates young people today, check. I could go on with a near infinite lists of ideological equivalences between Trump and the Heil.

He vowed to "dispatch police?"  Who does he think he is?  More important, does he think this is a banana republic?
