- I think this sentence explains a lot. Absolute right and wrong decisions are fundamentally a human social construct. Nothing more.
Once you really understand this, you can make decisions without a false pressure and be happy with them whether or not they deliver optimal consequences. There is no such thing as right or wrong (as well as good and evil).

She told me that she can't respect someone that doesn't believe in god. And we don't have kids. 

I'm not sure I could respect anyone who considered uttering the first sentence. 
No kids involved so from a non-emotional position it's really a no-brainer.
I know life just isn't that clean-cut but this is probably the best opportunity you have.
