How do I cry?

@ OP I think the harder you try to make yourself cry the less you'll be able to. Certainly if you're trying to directly force the tears out.
I spent years when I would regularly feel like I wanted to cry and I would try to get myself to but I could never cry. I felt so empty. It was awful. Nowadays I just find myself crying about something sad or happy, anything very emotional. And it feels amazing and it's a relief but I don't tend to think about crying or sadness itself. Whereas most of my sorrow used to be feeling frustrated at my own unhappiness, nowdays I get sad and happy for other people, people I care about. I don't think self-pity could ever make me cry. I only cry for others, for myself I just get frustrated or panicky. |
