Ex heroin addict here. I cleaned myself before Portugals drive on my own, but knowing the 'hood' they helped alot of my friends. It is not a crime, but also not legal. I am biased, but I can tell you that drugs of heroin power will eat you alive

Let's talk about drugs
|
I'd say legalize most of them. What adults put into their own bodies is mostly their own business. Educate everyone on the dangers of drugs (including cigarettes), and put some of the money that currently goes into the drug war and put it into rehab centers. Some should still be illegal to sell on the street (only can be sold by a licensed center, who will recommend rehab for customers who are buying too often), but otherwise should be legal to possess and use.
Also release all prisoners currently in prison for drug possession, unless convicted of another crime.
I've had lots of drugs in my time. Not heroin though.
One drug I wouldn't want legalised is synthetic marijuana. That shit really fucks you up. I did it for a while after giving up real marijuana, mostly to stay off the radar with drug tests. I went through three or four bags and found it quite addictive in the end. Every time I smoked it I said to myself, 'that's the last time, I'm throwing the rest away after this.' Half an hour later I was smoking some more. And this was just a little tiny cone's worth, barely enough to pull through. I believe you could die if you smoked a couple of cones in quick succession. How, you might ask, by linking weed with meth, not even kidding. That, and complaining that they couldn't distinguish between textiles or smokables. Yeah, no shit...but it wouldn't matter if it was decriminalized or legalized....and apparently that little thought escaped them. They couldn't think past their cash cow, couldn't imagine a world in which it didn't exist...and presented with a proposal that would remove it they failed to realize that and strangely began to babble about how it would be hard to find all the "bad pot" that would no longer be a thing, how difficult their jobs would be, how much funding they would lose. Not to mention the extra, off-the-budget cash that comes from auctioning property seized as "drug forfeitures". If you're getting that much gravy out of the system, would you want to learn the difference between industrial hemp, some fine indica, and crystal meth? Hell no -- put them all in a category, and go out and buy that APC with twin .50s you've been wanting.
I just came here for the drugs. Canz I haz zum?

I remember when it was legal in Georgia. (If we are talking the same stuff?? Fake weed?) I was still married and visiting an old friend from highschool. I guess her husband had just tried some I don't remember what he called it but she called it "legal weed". He jumped out the window and broke his leg shortly after I left because I was freaked out by his weird behavior.
I had some synthetic weed at friends house one day and it was a different brand to the one I usually smoked.
I was tripping out so bad I had to stand in a doorway in the middle of the house to hold myself up. This dickhead disappears for twenty minutes and comes back with a blunt samurai sword, taps me on the shoulder with it from behind and starts yelling at me to get ready. I just fucking freaked out big time, wrestled him to the ground and tried to tie him up with a 25 metre electrical extension cord. He was a lot smaller than me. By the time he got out I had deposited his sword into the next door neighbours wheelie bin and he never saw it again. He apologised later even though he barely remembered what had happened.
That's a little hilarious...sorry. Just saying. Don't hate me
