Believed in an abstract God till i was about 6-7 maybe, never the bible though, it started when i went to hang out with friends in the weekend, two of my childhood friends went to Sunday school and i occasionally went. Plus in the early 90's from the age of 5-10 we had compulsory classes in Bible Study - That was the thing that really turned me off it, the stories were clearly bullshit and the teachers believed that the Jews were the first people and told us so repeatedly - this is really what got me - I already knew heaps about Dinosaurs and Cavemen (Neanderthals) because i was a complete Dino nerd early on, and also loved Greek and Egyptian Mythos, so i spotted their bullshit early on - I thought Ra was the coolest God, so i had no problem poo-pooing this useless angry Yahweh fucker.

Parents never said a thing about religion, neither of them believe in God (mum believes some stupid shit though), neither do any of my relatives for that matter - If it is bought up (and it pretty much never is in NZ, the Christians are scared of looking foolish) The whole family will sit around and talk about how bullshit it is, or make fun of their Christian friends at gatherings etc and laugh about Magic Man (which i got my Dad into saying deliberately in place of God in conversation, it was hilarious at his work-do with the two Catholic workmates - Just ask them about the crackers and they shut up pretty fast!).

I wasn't raised in a religious home. I believed in god when I was little like I believed in Santa and the tooth fairy. I became an atheist as a teenager. I grew out of god.
