EU 'should expect influx of jihadists'

Well, forgive me for not skittling up the ceiling in abject terror. I've been informed on exactly how scared I should be of terrorism, jihadists and everything in-between pretty much every day since 9/11 - that shit gets exhausting if its piped at you day in, day out, especially since my head has remained quite firmly on my shoulders, and doesn't look to be moving from them any time soon. I literally don't have anything left to give on the subject. I'm tired of it - bored, even.

Nah. Nothing to worry about.

Have you ever stopped and asked yourself why they're selling you fear and not strength?

Have you ever stopped and asked yourself why you're buying it?

Have you defined "those" in such a manner that you can pinpoint the ones who cause your fear?

I won't address your strawman other than to say it's unworthy of my time, and belittles your own thinking more than it does my position.

You may as well talk to him, they will all be sorry for their indifference one day.

That would accomplish nothing.

He's set on his opinion, and I'm set on mine.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter as well.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

We are soooo lucky, that fear solves most problems and it never, ever causes dumb, ignorant people to do idiotic and/or horrific sh*t, when escalated...

So, what do we do now about this clear and imminent new danger? Perhaps we should limit the amount of toothpaste you can take on a plane to - say - 50ml and introduce compulsory colonoscopies at the airports? Would that satisfy - at least temporarily - the people who get off on being permanently scared out of their tiny little minds?

Maybe UK (or whatever's left of it after all the Brexit turbulence is over) can hold a referendum and vote to exit reality. I imagine it can lead to very lucrative new trade deals with Narnia...

I would call it caution not fear.

Mosul is surrounded.  Raqaa is surrounded.  The fighters in those places will have a hard time "escaping."  They can fight to the death or surrender.  My guess is there will be plenty of p-o-ws.

The thing to worry about is the ISIS sympathizers who are still in Europe who will/may say "fuck it.  May as well go out in a blaze of glory."  That is a valid concern.

In the first half of this year in the USA, over 200 people died in mass shootings. Most were not perpetrated by jihadists. I am much more likely to be shot by a non-Muslim American citizen than by a 'jihadist'. If I don't soil myself over that, why should I clutch my pearls over irhabis? Over 30,000 people died in accidental falls last year, and I'm not terrified of that either. There are risks in the world, but living in fear doesn't beat cold rationality for dealing with them. We could eliminate more deaths per year with common sense policies that focus on what actually kills us the most than terrorists have ever cost us.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I'm more likely to be killed by a toddler than a terrorist, hence why I've taken to preemptively booting them clear over the horizon before they have a chance to strike.

Oh, so now I'M the bad guy, huh?!

234 died in terror attacks in France alone in the previous 18 months to July this year.

Luckily this thread wasn't about America.

Equally an inordinate amount die in car crashes, but it misses the crucial point. That one is staring us in the face as a deliberate cause and another is not. Keyword: accidental.

In the grand scheme of things, yes, the chances of you getting killed by terrorists is still pretty slim. But quite honestly, the stupidity of people who stick their head in the sand and act like there is no issue whatsoever with an open door immigration policy that ISIS themselves have told us they would use, and have actually done so to kill people, baffles me to no end.
