A quick word on "Overwhelmingly Negative Influences"

I'm not likely to be convinced that if any of the popular members here said similar shit that Drich says, but said it about undesirables, anyone (apart from maybe CL) would bat an eye. The problem people have with Drich is that he says it directly to members of the forum who are popular. Well, that and he says a lot of shit that doesn't make any sense. Any one of us could (and lots likely have) say any old fucked up thing to Drich and it would be business as usual. Drich could say, "Fuck a goat, you stupid slut." to one of our female members and the white knights would rain down from the proverbial heavens. I could say, "Drich, I hope a goat rapes you in the bum." and you'd be lying if you said you would decry my behavior in anywhere near a similar way. Why? Because you don't like Drich. It's a bias. It can be completely natural or even morally correct, but it's still a bias. To deny it just plain silly.

Neither fully disagree nor full agree. But overall, Drich says nasty shit on a regular basis, rationalizes them, acts like a victim in the process, is condescending, and has a Messianic complex, thinking he's God's gift to all. So it's a combination of many uglies that Drich displays here. And I've yet to note such degree of uglies from any of the popular members here. Maybe that's why they're popular.

Certainly. He is who he is, and Min is certainly not like him in many regards. My point is that we only react to the causes that we think are nobler. We excuse the same behavior from people we like because we like them while raising our pitchforks at the behavior of those we don't like/disagree with for similar transgressions. It's just how it is. I do it too. If Tibby (assuming he was just an ordinary member) came in and trolled the forum with a sock account, I'd be kind of irritated, but I would call for leniency because he's so popular and I love him. If some random bible-thumper did it, I wouldn't give a shit if he or she were banned, ya know?

We've had popular members who have been vitriolic as fuck. The reason they stayed popular is that they weren't vitriolic to popular members or any flirty female members. (Sorry, guys and gals. Unpopular opinion made without judgment. It's just an observation I've made on the Internet as a whole.)

To be fair, he thinks that about all human beings, atheist and theist alike. Because what are we gonna do about it, amiright? So bring on the plagues and the floods and he hopes we get aids, lol. You know, some people get offended, when he says that sort of shit...I just think it's hilarious.

He said "I value human life, but the death of a theist is like squishing a bug."

I don't think he was talking about everyone. But whatevs.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Let's be clear here, the only thing hoping something horrible happens does is hurt people's feelings. His hope or prayers, no matter how evil or distasteful you think they are, mean absolutely nothing. How do you get mad at fairy dust? If someone said, "I am going to give you AIDS," I'd be a mite more mad.

Perhaps. I personally wouldn't find that as bad as the stuff he's already said. But yes, that's likely there would be a bigger outcry because this is an atheist forum after all.

"That's fine, so long as you remember who were among your faithful minions," he said obsequiously as he poured his fearsomely beautiful leader a glass of wine while sterilizing her favorite battle scalpel. "Now it's time for your foot massage before I present this week's list of undersirables."

You haven't had a proper stir-fry, I see.

Proper stir-fry? Hell, I'd bet she hasn't had a proper tossed salad either.   Dodgy
