Rob, this question is especially directed at you, even though you're not staff ATM.

The rule only disallows it if it's done without permission.

Not to mention that there's nothing from preventing someone from posting their own sent PM's. You just can't post anyone else's without their explicit permission.

You want your own correspondance posted? Post it yourself. Problem solved.

Actually, CD, I seem to recall getting banned precisely for posting my own sent PM

I'll have to go look up the circumstances of that, because I doubt that's *all* it was.

That's an odd way to characterize it.

You got a temp ban for posting a very personal, very private message to someone who has you on ignore in order to circumvent the ignore.

If you don't understand what is wrong with that, I cannot help you.

Nothing was changed but we're still going to vote on improving that particular rule.

I think the confusion might have come from the fact that we can't automatically verify external communications like we can with PMs. That doesn't mean we can't do it, just that we need some evidence.

None of which was or is against the rules, CD. Go and read them. That ban was fabricated out of thin air.

Not that I care. I did make an intimate gesture and it backfired. That's all. I'm not going to cry over it.
