Because your living a "perfect life".

In conclusion, blind faith is supported in average sane religious person by noble motives, which legitimize the whole doctrine. And I agree with sane believers, compassion is really painful to accept and "sin" is what keeps me going.

There is such a thing as a "sane" believer? Where can I meet one? Wouldn't they be atheist as well if they were "sane"?

Yes, by societies acceptance/laws/rules/morays (not the eels) there are sane believers. Believers that are not considered insane. From my perspective it all come down to their ability to rationalize/justify/handle cognitive dissonance.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

FYI: "mores", not "morays"

And you're being generous. If a person who was NOT religious had an imaginary friend would you be so kind?  Dodgy

Thanks for the correction, spellifying ain't my thing. I saw that but it just didn't look write.

Society says not insane. Imaginary friend, healing crystals, humans reincarnated in pets, alien contact .............. I'm sure you can think of others. Quirky or delusional - yes, insane - no.

Although, placing some of the more vocal, persistently annoying believers into a tank of morays might be an interesting way to test the power of prayer.

They have to work a lot harder on that part.

Tell them that you're gay and that you want to get married and watch how much more caring and less egotistical they suddenly become.

I bet they got the morality from war times. at first they were persecuted by romans then came the dark ages. but after the industrial revolution it lost all substance, because people become moral in their search for progress.

Let us suppose that, after operating costs (salaries, admin, idiotic hats), the Catholic Church could free up $10 billion to help poor people - not an unreasonable figure, I think.

UN statistics indicate that roughly a quarter of a billion people in Africa are 'hungry', defined as either undernourished, malnourished, or in danger of death from starvation.  The UN further estimates that ONE dollar per person per month would virtually ensure that these people would stop going to be hungry (not all of the aid would be in the form of direct food assistance - a large part would go to help create subsistence farms at a local level).  So, $250 million per month.

I'm no maths whiz, but I'm fairly sure that I've just shown that the Church could - if it wished - end hunger in Africa for 40 months, after which the level of aid needed would drop like a paralyzed falcon.

I guess starving people make better parishioners.

Politicians today go as far as suggesting WW3 in the age of abundance, because of the greed and lust. Its no surprise that even those who read bible cant accept its painful ideals.

You also have to deduct the settlements paid to the victims of pervert priests.  That eats up a lot of their budget!
