Yeah, I was reading about this last night. One thing that shocked me --I did not know that the Royal Navy, which is tracking this movement, only has 24 combat-worthy vessels.

Yeah, our armed forces are going down the fucking toilet. Thanks to both of our parties.

It's a shame. Sooner or later we Americans will have to pull back, and what then?

The RN will not have enough ships to escort both carriers under construction; they will be platooned, which will wear out the escorts quicker.

What then? We'll be screwed.

There's absolutely no way we could fight off a foreign threat on our own.

You'll have to.  Remember you told the EU to go fuck itself and we'll probably be busy with all of Drumpf's wars.

Besides, he loves the russkis.

No doubt the EU would help even after Brexit's completed, but even so, I'd imagine even France would hard-put to resist any Russian incursion.

We currently spend around £12.2bn on foreign aid. My idea would be to get rid of that completely and divert it to the military. It's obviously not much but it would certainly help.

If it works the same way as here the bulk of that money goes to domestic arms manufacturer's who then ship the products to places where they can be used to kill/oppress people we don't like in the first place.

Min and Thump

We may have expressed our wishes to exit the EU and we certainly will do so, but we're still Europeans and we still hope to co-operate with the EU. I'm sure they would help us and we would try and help them in any way we can. We just don't want to be ruled by them that's all.
