Like Losty, I don't know whether MJ was guilty or not of child molestation. I am agnostic. That said, I don't think this is that good of an argument against Mike potential being guilty. After all, what kind of parents would let their child sleep on the same bed with Mike in the first place? The same kind of parents who would just settle for the money even if in reality their child was molested.

It's widely accepted the pictures of Michael Jackson in the oxygen chamber were actually of Michael Jackson, taken at his direction, and deliberately leaked to the Enquirer, or the Star, or whoever got them first.
So Michael was complicit with creating his image or stigma, or whatever you want to characterize it as.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Back in the 80s the supermarket rags frequently ran front page articles on "Wacko Jacko".
Turns out Michael himself was producing and leaking some/most of the materials used in the articles.
He went too far with the hyperbaric oxygen treatment stories as it was pretty obvious such pictures would require at the very least Michael's cooperation, knowledge, or active assistance in creating.
Tough feeling sorry for him for a mess of his own making.

It seems there wasn't evidence that Michael Jackson was guilty of child molestation and, sure, it's fair to be considered innocent until proven guilty. But I do find it highly disturbing that he had children sleeping in his bed that weren't his own.

Well, the detectives thought the victim descriptions of the pattern of Michaels vitiligo areas in his crotch area were pretty damn convincing once they got a warrant to photograph Michaels crotch area to confirm the descriptions in the allegations.
That would be a tough predicament to lawyer/buy ones way out of, that he succeeded is pretty impressive.

If you listen to Macaulay you'll understand that much is a misunderstanding. MJ let children sleep in "his bed" and he went and slept in the guest bed (that's from the 2003 Living with Michael Jackson).

No I'm not, I'm just interested in the stigma. I do absolutely love some of his songs, but most of them do not do much for me. In fat the only songs of his I really like are "You are not alone" and "Heal the world". Thriller, Billy Jean, etc don't do it for me.

That's a different stigma though. Even if you might say that was his fault (though why doesn't Novak Djokovic receive the same stigmatisation then?) that doesn't mean other things he was stigmatised for are fair.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

Aractus, I can look past your other grave shortcomings (j/k) but of all the songs, the saccharine drivel HEAL THE fucking WORLD is the one song of his you like? Jebus Christ! That's just perverse.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

It's certainly not the world that needs healing. It's so-called civilization. Like George Carlin said "The planet is fine... the people are fucked. Difference. Difference."

One song?
Child, please.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
