1. They're already cutting him slack for it. It's one of those weird things where he said words that were identifiable in English and reasonably interpretable as to their meaning, i.e., "I'm going to build a wall to keep out Mexicans," meaning that he's going to get money in order to construct a structure spanning America's border with Mexico as a preventative measure meant to curb illegal immigration, but instead those words are now being interpreted differently by his supporters to mean that he's just going to do something about immigration. Presumably something terrific.

University of Oklahoma student suspended for sending racist messages

A University of Oklahoma student has been temporarily suspended on suspicion of sending racist social media messages, including threats of lynchings, to black freshman at the University of Pennsylvania, the two universities said on Saturday.
The messages were sent to more than 150 students at the University of Pennsylvania, President-elect Donald Trump’s alma mater, and included racial slurs and pictures of African-Americans being hanged, students told local media.
“This is absolutely vile material and completely offensive to everyone on our campus,” University of Pennsylvania President Amy Gutmann said in a statement. “This is simply deplorable.”
