Yeah, that was interesting Smile Still confusing but a bit more clear thanks to your guide  Smile I guess my 'homework' before Sunday should be to watch a few more of those to minimise the potential annoying interruptions of questions Wink There were a couple that stood out... and were clear enough to have a pretty good idea what was going on... like the one where one team was near the end zone of the other, but the defending team managed to get the ball and run past them uncontested all the way back down the (open) field to score a touchdown at the other end. So yeah, I think I will get the hang of it, but just need to watch a bit more... but it's great to finally have a basic understanding not only of the game, but also the terms used and how it's scored/statted (i.e. the 1st and 10 thing etc)... so that should help it all come together. And yeah I am UK so it won't be on terrestrial TV and we don't have Sky Sports, so a streaming link would be good, thanks Smile

Hehe, yeah. Him and I are best buddies. I often joke to Shell B that I only married her so I could hang out with her dad more.

"like the one where one team was near the end zone of the other, but the defending team managed to get the ball and run past them uncontested all the way back down the (open) field to score a touchdown at the other end"

I think you're talking about the one at 3min 43s? That was an interesting and controversial play actually. The team with the ball (the Saints) were kicking a PAT (i.e. they'd just scored a touchdown and were trying to kick a field goal for an extra 1 point. The ball got kicked, but was blocked by a Denver player, and another Denver player picked it up off the ground and ran with it all the way down the other end. However, because it was on an extra point attempt, it wasn't a touchdown, but a "defensive two-point conversion", and so he only scored 2 points. It was controversial because on replay it looked like the Denver player with the ball stepped out of bounds (the white area at the sides of the field) which would have ended the play.

Big Grin I knew it  Wink

Yeah, that's the one... I've just looked at it again several times... the guy (number 34) didn't look out of bounds to me (or borderline at most)  Wink (see, won't be long before I'm calling the ref a cunt along with the rest of yer  Wink ). But as you've explained it, now it makes more sense why it was easier to understand... because it was stopped so they could take a kick. It was very sneaky of the defenders to 'block' it like that, but as many times as I watched that clip, I couldn't see exactly how they got the ball from him to number 34, but it wasn't a slow motion, close up replay so I guess that's understandable. Now if you could just do another commentary in English of all the other nine plays then we'd be laughing... just kidding... unless you want to, then not  Wink Big Grin

Fuck I love South Park. Their Ass Burgers Sin Drone episode was one of their best ever! Big Grin

Btw, that's not the name of the episode, it was just called "Ass Burgers" but I thought that was fun to say Big Grin

LOL you know when Stan Marsh first gets diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome he's told he has a condition that is also known as "Being a cynical asshole." LOL!!!!

Here's a photo that's been circulating the Internet since the play: http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/11/will-par...ick-return

It's a tough call, bad angle, so yeah, I can understand why they didn't call it. However one thing you'll learn is that the refs suck and are always against whatever team you are cheering for. Tongue

About once a week, if not more, there are "blown calls" where the refs missed something or got something wrong that affected the game. They spent a lot of time last season arguing over what a "catch" was, after this happened: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highl...z-catch-it

If you rewatch the Broncos / Saints play and pause it at specific moments, you'll see Denver #31 leap over the line and gets himself in front of the ball as it is kicked, which causes it to ricochet to the left and is caught by Denver #34.

It starts getting really good from season 9 episode 14 and onwards. Because that's the first episode when Randy Marsh becomes more than a very minor character. He becomes utterly hilarious. My favorite.

Also Butters has always been epic.

I'll have you know I dodged no bullets. I will give kudos to Tourette's jokes with no shame. I expect Tibby to do the same with OCD. He makes them enough at home.

Piss-taking is paramount.

I mean, who wants to keep their piss all for themselves?! Scrooges, misers and silly humbugs that's who!

I have no idea what that means.

Right... well I'd vote too close to call on that even with the photos Wink Yeah, I did figure that that's what it looked like... that it looked like it basically just bounced off him, but I thought there might have been a pass in there somewhere too.

As for the bad call, was that because the ball the receiver caught touched the ground just before the end zone? If so, then I'd accept the call being reversed. It's a tough one really isn't it: on the one hand you've got what what's technically correct, in light of video evidence etc, but on the other hand they did make a call and I take it what you mean is that this decision wasn't reversed until long after the game? In which case I'd understand the team being pissed off on a technicality. But nonetheless I think the only fair way is to go with the video evidence, even if it does mean reversing a call long after the game. How many times have England played and there been clear evidence after the fact that it was a bad call but nothing anyone could do about it? So I'm definitely in favour of calls being challengeable after the fact.

I dunno... I know this is probably sacrilegious to say but it's not really grabbing my interest that much. It's a bit of chore really to watch it. It's okay but just not great. The main comedy I'm watching at the moment is Peep Show... and that one I can happily binge-watch.
