There's a joke in there somewhere about how you definitely didn't date the same chicks I dated in high school, but its late and I'm tired.

Don't know much about the origins of this though.
I have a theory...

God doesn't have a sex.
Referring to God as Father and using male pronouns probably has more to do with human culture than anything else. God as a human (Jesus) was a man out of practicality because women weren't taken seriously back in those days.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Back in those days? You say that as though there was a time when women were taken seriously.

Hm? As a woman, I feel like I am taken seriously. I've never felt like I was somehow inferior or worth less than a man.

God is male, because he is a huge dick

Can you be a priest in Catholic church yet? Just wondering if the new Pope changed anything like that.. and as for not feeling inferior, well, you have a very blessed life then and I'm happy for you! We women have differing experiences depending upon our placement in this world, would you not agree? I think is what he was referring to.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

No, we cannot be priests, but not because we see women as inferior. We believe God assigned a priest's special role of giving spiritual life, to men (performing the sacraments). Just as He assigned the special role of giving physical life, to women (becoming pregnant and giving birth). One is not superior or inferior to the other... just different.
