Not saying you are wrong, just that you can't really know such a thing based on what you see of someone on TV.

Basically, they're just expressing opinions based on their hatred of Trump.

I honestly don't think so. It appears to me that his supporters are overlooking a real problem because of their own hatreds that Trump speaks to so they put him on a pedestal.

The Mayo clinic gives this description:

Quote:Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for admiration and a lack of empathy for others. But behind this mask of ultraconfidence lies a fragile self-esteem that's vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

Here are the symptoms from the Mayo clinic: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-condi...n-20025568
  • Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance
  • Expecting to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
  • Exaggerating your achievements and talents
  • Being preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
  • Believing that you are superior and can only be understood by or associate with equally special people
  • Requiring constant admiration
  • Having a sense of entitlement
  • Expecting special favors and unquestioning compliance with your expectations
  • Taking advantage of others to get what you want
  • Having an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
  • Being envious of others and believing others envy you
  • Behaving in an arrogant or haughty manner
Note that it's not necessary to have every symptom to be considered as having the disorder but it is remarkable how many of these traits Trump has.

Just today Trump continues to push an obvious lie that 3 to 5 million voted illegally and that's why he didn't win the popular vote. His own team can't understand why he brings this back up now since he won anyway and it just makes him look stupid and undermines his credibility. However, it makes perfect sense if this disorder is present.

Today they also brought up the tapes of Trump when he pretended to be his own publicist, used a fake name, and bragged endlessly about "Donald", which is strange behavior unless you consider NPD as the cause.

So what do you think?
Since I joined here I've been very clear that I don't subscribe to either liberal of conservative ideology but for those Trump supporters, doesn't this bother you even a bit?

Has there ever been a sane politician in human history?  They are all nuts.

RE: Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Trump now wants a major investigation into an allegation that only he believes about voter fraud. https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-calls-f...17994.html

His own party can't understand what the point is since he did win the election (so why allege voter fraud) and it doesn't matter that he didn't win the popular vote. The only person this would make a difference to is someone with NPD who refuses to accept he is not the most beloved president ever.
I've heard some talking heads say that this is not a big issue and neither was his obsession that Obama's crowds were bigger than his, leading to the worst and strangest opening press conference ever. But I think that is the point. That Trump gets so bent out of shape about these irrelevant issues that only affect his ego and he is therefore willing to waste tax payer dollars on it. This is a HUGE red flag.

Where are the conservatives who worry about wasting tax payer money when you need them?

Seriously, Trump has a mental disorder.
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.

Your side lost the once loyal blue collar working class democrat voters in states that hadn't voted Republican in over thirty years. These were the same voters who elected Barack Obama to two terms in office. What hatreds did they have then when they were loyal democrats? Hillary Clinton didn't step one foot in Wisconsin during her campaign. Your side dismissed those voters in the rust belt and coal coal states. If the left thinks they can continue demonizing and maligning voters as nazis, racists, and bigots and win back the White House, good luck. We'll see eight years of Donald Trump. Continue to delude yourselves.

RE: Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Leaving aside the various disorders Trump may or may not have, and how inadvisable it is to attempt a remote diagnosis, has the possibility been considered that maybe he's just a douche?

Many medical professionals think Trump has NPD too.

Medical professionals? Well unless they are a pychologist who has personally examined him, it's irrelevant.

Yes, I get that which is why I put the topic out there and asked for other opinions.

Having said that, I don't think that discussing absurd behavior should be off limits given how destructive the consequences could be. People started noticing early signs of Alzheimer's in Reagan and that eventually is what killed him. In his case it was at the end of his term so no damage was done.

Also, if the signs are very obvious it's not that difficult to see. I saw a youtube video of a kid falling of a rail while skateboarding. His leg ended up in a 90degree angle in the middle of his shin. Don't need to be a doctor to see it was a broken leg.

Yeah, but you do need to be a pychologist and personally examine someone to diagnose a psychological disorder. I mean that's only according to the American Psychiatric Association. That's a rule that they have for other people who also have PhDs. What do they know though? I'm sure random people on the internet who read a wikipedia page are qualified though.

It's a non-useless observation. Not talking about an actual diagnosis.

Basically, it seems he's more likely to have NPD than the average person... considering how his behavior matches the symptoms.

It's not my side and douchebags switch sides all the time. For example, just because people voted for Dems before that doesn't mean that they couldn't also be conned by a pathological liar who spoke to their fears. You are deluding yourself if you think that a bunch of democrat voters couldn't also be scumbags voting in their own interests(union support for example).
The issue is not that they were democrats before, it's the shitty candidate they voted for this time.
I actually think the ratio of shitty people who are liberal or conservative is about the same so you're argument that they must have been good people before because they were Democrats is a fail. That's the part that you and liberals share in common.

BTW, no one in this discussion mentioned anything about Nazis, racists or bigots. This is a discussion about Trumps extremely fragile ego and if it could be pathological (which it definitely seems to be) You've not even attempted to explain the current bout of really weird behavior discussed in this thread and instead decided to blindly defend "your side". You should really try and leave your biases behind and really look at Trump without the blinders on.
You shouldn't give him or any politician a free pass.
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.
