Nah apparently while I'm having mood swings I'm ill until I'm an asshole and then my mood swings are fake. Then when I start being nicer again my illness is suddenly real again.

The idea that trump has npd fails on availability of supply - a person with actual npd would have long ago changed his tune.  

He's just an asshole...don't make it more than it is.  

I have to disagree. I think part of it being pathological is an INABILITY to stop the behavior.

For example, Trump continues to state that crime rates are the highest they've been in 42 years (which was debunked to his face during the campaign) even when the conservative media in the person of Bill O'Reilly just called him on it again to his face. He also just stated that ANY polls that are unfavorable must be lies! It's clear his own advisers can't stop him from doing these kind of things. He simply believes that whatever he thinks is true, must be true, by the fact that he, Donald Trump, the greatest human ever, believes it. If I look at the world through the eyes of a pathological narcissist like Trump, strange, arguably self destructive behavior as above, actually makes sense if you see what I mean.

I'm a very skeptical person by nature and I'm not floating this hypothesis casually. I can even understand anyone's reservations about labeling Trump in this way, so I can see why this is not discussed at all in the media. It probably shouldn't be. But I'm not the media  
However, I'm very serious when I say this should be of huge concern because I can envision any number of scenarios where this type of pathology in a President could have disastrous results. So far it's been been harmless (unless you count the harm to truthfulness) but it may not stay that way.

I think most older people, myself included, have never seen any politician come anywhere near the levels of self delusion and lying in the manner Trump does. Even when caught red handed on tape. This is unprecedented. (Unless you count Kim Jong Un)  Even when his own advisers tell him it's self destructive he can't seem to stop and that's one of the reasons I see it as pathological.

A normal, run of the mill asshole doesn't care that he didn't win the popular vote because he won the election. To an asshole, who cares what the majority thinks if you've won. Trump on the other hand can't get over it. He's still fuming about it and launching investigations into voter fraud over an election HE WON!

Theres a name for the effect that you're expressing above, though it escapes me.  Human beings have a demonstrable tendency to remember the most recent and forget the past.  I think that you could spend a few hours on the interwebs and jog your memory as to the craven dishonesty of politicians at every level of government now and all the way back to the beginning of recorded history.

He's locked into his shit, he kept claiming that there was fraud, and backing out now would be -obvious- dishonesty.....this is pretty much standard operating procedure.  Remember how long the last republican administration insisted that there were weapons of mass destruction in iraq? Anybody down for a slice of yellow cake?
