Can we talk about Trump's war on the scientific community?

I've read many posts on uncommon descent, including the one you linked, and not one single one of them told the truth. It is common knowledge that that blog is written by a lying crank who shuts down debate and censors anyone who dares to correct him.

As I said citing the blog is a new lo for you.

I would encourage you to search a little.   You can find similar stories on Scientific American or a number of other places if you prefer.  Your claim would appear to be false.

99% of the stuff in reputable publications about the uncommon descent is essentially proper scientists laughing at Michael Behe for shilling discredited nonsense he admitted in court was a tissue of lies. The other 1% is Behes discredited lying nonsense.

What war on the scientific community ? He would need their help, sooner or later.

He is also going to need the help of the US intelligence community, the world press, and Mexico.

Trump has the goddamdest habit of picking fights with people who he should be trying to win over of anyone I've ever seen. Perhaps we could get a good medium to conjure up the ghost of Richard Nixon have him explain to Trump what happens when you treat the press as the enemy.

when I first heard this I was alarmed like most people were. Turns out, it was a sensational news story meant to play on people's emotions. This is actually standard practice when a new adminstration takes over and the same thing happened when Obama came into office.

“I’ve lived through many transitions, and I don’t think this is a story,” said a senior E.P.A. career official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the news media on the matter. “I don’t think it’s fair to call it a gag order. This is standard practice. And the move with regard to the grants, when a new administration comes in, you run things by them before you update the website.”

But the White House and State Department did delete nearly all mentions of climate change policy — which had been a top priority for Mr. Obama — and have begun replacing them with pages detailing Mr. Trump’s plans to roll back those policies — a top priority for the new president.

It is standard practice for new administrations to make changes to their websites to reflect their different policy positions. The full contents of the Obama administration’s White House and State Department websites, including working links to climate change reports, have been archived and are readily available to the public.

But environmental advocates and Democrats took advantage of the moves, noting that they appeared to target agencies that focus on environmental protection and scientific research, and calling them a chilling signal that the Trump administration intends to suppress communication about science and environmental policy, and possibly scientific data.

"If the website goes dark, years of work we have done on climate change will disappear," an EPA staffer told Reuters.

The staffer told Reuters that some EPA employees were moving quickly to save information from the website before it went dark and were hoping to convince the Trump administration to keep parts of it.

People that stupid definitely should not be talking to the media.
