Yeah I remember when I first watched "I, Claudius" I became obsessed for a while with JH because I never saw someone acting like that.

That's the second actor in two days that I heard of dying. For me, his most memorable roles were in, Alien, Wild Bill, and Indiana Jones and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.

Some of you may be too young to remember the actor, Mike Connors. He passed away yesterday too, at the age of 91. He was best known for his role in the 1970s TV series, Mannix.

I'm 10 years your junior, but old enough to remember 1970ies tv.

As for Hurt, my more recent memories of him include Hellboy. I didn't even know that it was him playing Olivander in Harry Potter.

I remember watching that. It was broadcast here in the states on the PBS channel. I believe John Hurt played Caligula. If I'm not mistaken, John Rhys-Davies was also in that series. Both, excellent actors.

Caligula, Joseph Merrick, the junkie in Midnight Express, and so many other memorable performances. I loved his work.

2017 seems to be picking up where 2016 left off.

Yup. He was in Hellboy, too. That was a pretty decent movie. I liked it.
