A rational explanation for hell?
#61
RE: A rational explanation for hell?
The oldest known religion is 10000 years old right?

The modern man is about 150000-200000 years old.
How could God judge people when they didn't even have the knowledge of such a thing even existing. Kind of unfair towards them.

Indeed Soyouz unless you think the earth is only about 10,000 years old. Apologists try to argue that god has alwasy revealed himself through creation and conciuosness. At best its casuistry.

The oldest I know of is 40.000 years old, Dreamtime from the Australian Aboriginals.

Alright, but the point still stands.

Does anyone have an explanation for animals and other living creatures. What happens to them when they die? Surely they can't go to heaven or hell. Does this mean there only exists humans in heaven?

Absolutely, just correcting a minor issue. And you did phrase it in the form of a question, so I thought I'd answer.

I don't believe God sends people that never understood the gospel to HelL. I think because of Christs death He has the legal right to pardon anyone. A perfect canidate for Hell is the American who's spurned Him, known of Him, but ignored Him all the same.

You believe that that's how it is. I would prefer proof or at least a logical theory. It's still unfair because that means these people back then didn't even have to work to get into heaven. While now people have to pray/worship him for them to be accepted into heaven? Since people back then did not know about religion that means humans after them made up God, not the other way round.

RE: A rational explanation for hell?
In my opinion there is no rational explanation for hell, the biblical God specifically by imposing hell on those that don't believe in him just shows his true colors. He demonstrates that he is nothing more than a sick sadistic tyrant who thrives on humiliating humanity and having power over them forever and ever. He also demonstrates what a prick he is by wanting to be praised all the time, talk about egotistical!

In fact this whole problem of sin is one that god created himself by putting that tree in the garden and not warning the first couple about that vile serpent and tempter. If sin were a real word or concept I would say it's a sin to believe in God.
There is nothing people will not maintain when they are slaves to superstition

If you decided tonight that you wanted to be a Christian what would you do? What kind of work would you begin to in order to get to heaven? Why do you say you have to pray/worship in order to be accepted into Heaven?

What makes you think people 10,000 years ago didnt know about God?
