Is there something Protonmail is lacking? It's free so how is it any worse than the alternatives you have to pay for?
I wouldn't really say it is lacking anything important, it's just I wouldn't bother trusting a company that agreed to pay a ransom of 15 bitcoins (around £3,750 in late 2015) after being threatened with a DDoS attack and then ended up being taken down anyway.
Last time I checked ProtonMail didn't support email clients (Thunderbird, etc) and you could only use it in a web browser, which is something else I don't like.

Based on what you said, I wouldn't trust it.
Thanks.

I wasn't really talking about mobile email clients and I don't use ProtonMail, but I appreciate that.

Not a problem, I just hope proton mail does not cave into local and Foreign governments demands to view it's servers contents. We have enough government in our lives as it is; among other things they do to disrupt our privacy.

Fat chance of that happening, the authorities have been illegally spying on innocent citizens, companies and other world leaders for years and they probably won't stop any time soon.

I didn't know Luke the Evangelist was in Star Wars.

I'm sure there is some government law that forces the company to keep logs of it's users. If I'm sending anything sensitive, I use either freenet or a tor email account. Those tend to be bit more private and very hard to trace if you know what your doing. As far as for other things, use proton mail. It took me about six weeks for me to get an account with them though. They also have a Android app for their service as well. You could also try looking int Lavabit (https://lavabit.com/).
Thanks

You shouldn't completely trust any service.

Thanks, I never said I did completely trust any service.
