Trump: "Any negative polls are fake news"

RE: Trump: "Any negative polls are fake news"
(February 6, 2017 at 2:06 pm)SteelCurtain Wrote: I defy you to find one actual news site saying anything of the sort. What you had was people being reasonably afraid that the man sent his Press Secretary out to the podium to say "That was the largest crowd to ever witness a presidential inauguration. Period."

There is a good amount of editorializing to be done about that kind of statement and the precedent it sets on Day One.

I've spent a long while thinking while I workin dinner about that first sentence. I had thought that you meant that I couldn't find an actual news site comparing trump to hitler or the like XD I was like, 'defy you to find one? Jesus christ the avalanche is unending!'. Little giggle, don't mind me.

So.... what this actually comes down to is a difference in perception. That his press secretary said that on day one terrifies you... and it doesn't affect me at all.

Quote:I agree. Perception is, in many people's world, their reality. But it doesn't change the polling data. The president's response to bad polling data should be to question why the polling data is bad and maybe alter his decision making in order to make the people in the country he leads approve of what he is doing, not to a priori dismiss any data that goes against the narrative that he wants to push.

For someone so wrapped up in perception, you are remarkably quick to dismiss the perception of the majority of the people in America. Because it doesn't fit your reality, I would guess.

But people do approve of what he's doing, by some polls. And people also do not approve of what he's doing, by other polls. What I will say for certain when we talk about polls is that people approve of him a heck of a lot more than people approve of Merkel or Hollande, and I will say for certain that Trump has been in office for 2 weeks and is making good on his campaign promises.

His response to his 3 million popular vote defeat was to launch a much needed investigation into voter fraud that his political opponents *had been seeking* up until he did it.

You can't say his optics aren't good, surely. Man's a master of optics Smile

He used his dad's money to make a shitload of money. Paris Hilton doesn't have much for business acumen.

If you think he hasn't done great things, then you either haven't looked to see any of the positivity that is in Donald Trump (there's quite a bit), or you're unwilling to see it.

My 2c. He's pretty cool actually. Not like he's some kind of Ghandi or anything, but then... Ghandi did actually beat his wife, and did actually support Hitler. Perspective. Smile

He didn't make a shitload of money.  He'd have more if he invested it in cd's. That's -if- he has as much as people imagine him to have....which he probably doesn't.

Again - underachiever.

(ghandi was a piece of shit, that doesn't excuse trump for being a piece of shit)

I fully expect Trump to go "full dictator".

That would be trade and political suicide for Britain. You think your politicians aren't nuts? Tongue The only programs I ever watch over here are House of Commons, House of Lords, and Russia Today (when she ain't on the fritz).

SNP sure are whiny. UKIP all the way, can't wait until they start taking seats.

Yknow, if anyone cares about the whole popular vote thing, then they surely wouldn't mind that applying for UKIP as well, eh? Angel Oh but no... it'll surely be politically motivated, as ever it is.

1. He's not successful he mooched off daddy's money and launched and endless tide of failed businesses lost more then more then billion dollars . what success ?. you have a very strange notion of success. (being a con man)

2. yes it effects him if he's willing to lie about something a small as this .What else would he be willing to lie about to save his ego.(and no the protests had no serious impact on the numbers)

3. If by children you mean sane rational people  you have not drunk the trump brand Kool-Aid (which probably was tried and filed for bankruptcy ) and the sky falling meaning Trump blatant assault on liberty then I agree.

4. As for him not going full fascist he realizes that he doesn't have to

5. And nope it's not irresponsible it's true

Correction: He used his daddy to spend a lot of money. Dumb fuck probably never made a single red cent in his life that wasn't stolen from other people.

No he used his dads money to fail a million times and a few lucky times swindle people and evade his taxes

Sure: Liberal rioting. Like they weren't going to riot anyways?

Sure, the establishment pedos are on suicide watch, yup Smile Thank God for that. Hopefully "The Damage" strikes true and deep for a thousand years.

Quote:wait....what?  What great things has he done?  He's an underachiever.

Trump Tower, The Apprentice, obliterated gays from being an issue in the republican party, literally the largest crowds ever drawn to hear a political candidate speak (excepting obama 2008, but that's more 'omg this is history black president' so, he really probably didn't need to say much. We're taking primaries and General Election rallies and shit, impressive stuff), hundreds of businesses, some serious success within them (I'd have had a lot more than 4-5 bankruptcies if I were to try to juggle all of that), oh and...

FOURTY-FIFTH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! Tiger

But seriously, should get some read on. The list is actually pretty long, he's a phenomenal businessman. What was that bit with that pipeline made out of american steel again? Wink

Quote:Overreacted?  To what, examples?

Liberals rioting to his existence? I don't know what makes them tick, Rhythm. They're crazy, and they've been rioting on and off for years over... nothing.
