And I'm currently in need of lunch, and a soupçon of momentum to get the laundry into the dryer, the household garbage out to the trash bin, and my clarinet out of its case so that I can get some practice done.  I have rather low-impact needs today.

And the two of you expect to accomplish these goals without God sitting on your shoulder?  Fie on you!

The very thought of trying to carry a load of laundry up 2 flights of stairs with a deity parked on my shoulder makes my back ache.

Mystic, stop. Please just stop. You've flung so much shit at the walls the carpets are getting squishy.

You're not going to convince anyone here with you half-baked, pseudo-philosophical bullshit.

I perceive that I'll have a beer after work.

And so it was.

To explain why we can define God to affirm his existence!
(March 19, 2017 at 12:08 pm)MysticKnight Wrote: The word "exist" doesn't define existence but is a short precise reference to it. But we cannot divorce our understanding of the word from existence. And existence by definition includes all that exist.

So when we think of word "exists", we cannot but help think of a universal unifying reality to all things that exist. We do it automatically.

The thing is despite people mocking St. Anslem (hope I have spelling right this time), part of beauty/praise is existence.

For example, you can think a thought and never do it but it would be a really awesome thing to do for the world. Or you can do it. We all know the latter is better because is HAS REAL existence, and REAL effect.

It's more beautiful and praiseworthy act than simply to imagine.

Greatness and existence are linked. That all possible greatness necessarily has to derive it's reality from existence and not from mere imagination or possibility.

God being conceived, it automatically means he exists, even though we don't fully conceive him.

It's hard to wrap your head around it, but you will realize, this really because existence is just another name for God.

All creation are closer to non-existence infinitely more so then existence.

We are forever in need of God and in total poverty towards him, so blessed are the poor in spirit!

Can you translate this into layman terms?

If you had listened to Allah, you'd've had the good sense to live in a bungalow.
