Doubting human knowledge of the history of their own, is not a bad idea.
The refusal of current told story for what we were and how we became the way we are, is not at all strange.

There are many ancient ruins and structures that simply cannot be explained using the current variables we have today.

How did humans move large stones?
Did humans fly with more sophisticated machines?
Stories are told about Atlantis, so were we apes or had advanced civilizations once before?

Civilizations that commit the same mistakes we did, and let ego rule the day.

I believe in ancient civilizations before the ancient Egyptians, ancient Norse, ancient Greeks.

Let me guess, some sort of sub von Daniken nonsense?

Similarly, students at Indiana University laid three courses of stones the same dimension as those used in the Great Pyramid. They did so using people power only, no modern techniques or tricks. If a bunch of frat boys can do this we don't need alien help.

The only problem with the Giza Pyramids is that no one has figured out what kind of ramp they used.  A single ramp would have used more material than the pyramid itself and a ramp which wraps around the edges would have obscured the corners making it impossible for the architects to get accurate measurements.
I have a suspicion but no one is going to take a pyramid apart to test it out!

Actually today's physicists have a damned good idea how it could have been done.

Rediscovered. I've seen that "wetting down" technique in, IIRC, "The Ten Commandments", with Charleton Heston and the bald dude.
