Name the skeptic or atheist, history trivia.

Name the skeptic or atheist, history trivia.
It can be anyone in history, doesn't have to be a all out atheist, just anyone in history that has valued skepticism. It can be a scientist, politician, artist, any historical figure. Ask a question, next person answers then they post a new question.

Who said, "If you gave that man and enema you could bury him in a matchbox"?

Anyone? Really nobody? This is an easy one. Come on guys. I know we have tons of eggheads here. No Arnold Horshshack's here "OH OH OH OH I KNOW I KNOW"?

The Hitch, about Jerry Falwell. And he was right.

Who said "the battle between science and religion was won when churches began putting up lighting conductors"?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I want to say Thomas Edison. FYI, as a side note, I hate the word "inventor". Countless individuals or companies compete to find the same things, an inventor is merely someone who beats everyone else to the patent office.

Correctomundo on the Hictchens quote, he said that upon Falwell's death. Was I right was it Edison?

Sounds a bit like Mark Twain or that kind of person, but I'm not sure...
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Maybe I should have put a time rule or number of post rule to keep the thread moving. If someone gets it wrong, wait a while but if nobody gets it right post the correct answer.

So we have an Edison and a Twain now as guesses to the last posted new question.

Asimov
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

The idea is if you guess right and know you are correct you post  new question in response. I wasn't sure which is why I didn't post a new question.

15 yard penalty for someone who guess wrong and posts a new question anyway.

Yeah, I always understood it to be one of Asimov's.

Ok, fun one, which ABBA member DOES NOT believe in a God? Hint, all the letters stand for their first names of the 4 members.
