RE: Mashal Khan- Curios Intellectual brutally lynched.
@Chimp if you're curios as to why I have less than 30 posts in three years. Well, due to the nature of things here I don't want to visit this forum very often.
However, after this incident that I mentioned I felt a pressing need to share and discuss this with everyone . Thanks you all for being empathetic and realizing how things are over here. I mean its not all that bad, people are condemning this a lot but the religion itself paves way for such incidents. Although not in such a barbaric and inhumane manner but the loopholes in Islam can lead to extremist interpretations such as this.
Thanks for posting the link @Tres
@AceBoogie, he's not my classmate. It's a university in the same country as me but I can relate to his situation

Every time I read an article like this from Pakistan I must admit I fear for the future of the people who don't fall into the mainstream way of thinking. I see the country becoming more and more radical and wonder where its future lies?

Are they going to end up with a religious despot who will finally bow to the demands of the radicals and turn the country even more extremist in attitude? Will that eventually lead to a major war with India, another nuclear power?

The more I read from the Muslim world, the more I say we should get as many of the decent people as we can out and then isolate them from the rest of the world.

Be safe and keep a low profile. Atheism does not need martyrs.

Wow, that's horrific Sad

That religion doesn't even need a God, even if one existed, when it's followers take it upon themselves to speak, act, and inflict sadistic violence... ie hell... on people in its name. With it, the mob is the god. Like Nazis. I strongly agree with Isis that it would be wise to be careful who you trust with your atheist thoughts, and not to underestimate the power of a mob mentality to create conformity in its ranks, such that even if there are other unbelievers, they may still conform with groupthink, even to the extent of denouncing others, out of fear for themselves. Again, like Nazi Germany. So I'd strongly advise keeping your atheist thoughts to yourself and just biding your time until you can get out, which thankfully, as you say, is soon, and then once out, don't look back. That's my advice.
