Dems didn't need a single 'pub vote in 2008, they literally could have passed anything. Passing what they did, and then subsequently having a panty wadded butt crack because it is fubar'd seems a bit disingenuous to me.
It's not like the dems are going to seize the House and Senate some time later this week and ride to my fucking rescue.

You can dislike Obamacare all the fuck you want. This is Obamacare Lite. Even shittier, and you might as well be drinking goat piss. And oh yeah, the only beneficiaries are the rich fucks.
So yeah, they're 'working on fixing it'. Much like your dog fixes your carpet by pissing on it.

All they did was take the first failed attempt and made it worse to appeal to the tea party nuts. And this might actually work in congress.
The worst thing this time around is removing the stipulation that pre existing conditions must be covered. Sick people will be the first kicked out or priced out of the market. What a great way to save money... don't insure those who are sick.
Hey conservatives, I know you're out there. Remember when the liar in chief said the following:
Quote:"We're going to have insurance for everybody," There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can't pay for it, you don't get it. That's not going to happen with us."
"I don’t care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now."
“You will end up with great health care for a fraction of the price and that will take place immediately after we go in. Immediately! Fast! Quick!”
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.

The fucking republicans are gambling on there being more healthy people than unhealthy people. And getting rid of insurance for unhealthy people will lower the rates of the healthy people.

I don't think so.
In 2008 few Americans (including Democrats) were willing to accept the necessity of universal healthcare so I doubt Obama could have passed anything he wanted. People needed a taste in the form of Obamacare. Keep in mind that the rate of premium increases was higher prior to Obamacare.
http://www.factcheck.org/2015/02/slower-...der-obama/ In fact, it was these spiralling costs that necessitated the affordable care act.
The problem in the USA has been the majority of people who fear universal healthcare. It's an uninformed electorate that is at the heart of your problems with getting affordable healthcare for all, not the politicians.
I think (hope?) that if millions are denied insurance by the republicans there will finally be a wake up call to say enough is enough even from the red states. The free market leaves too many uncovered, does not produce better results (as compared to other nations) and isn't even cost effective compared to literally every other nation on earth as it's by far the most expensive system.
And let's not even discuss the bankruptcies that lack of health insurance causes, or how employer based coverage keeps the workforce immobile when health issues occur and keeps American employers at a competitive disadvantage because of the high costs.
The clownservatives are fools who would rather remain ideologically pure than do what works.

House passes it 217-213.
