John Oliver takes on for-profit dialysis units

 The first few weeks I was on dialysis I was treated in a DaVita unit. Everything Oliver says is 100% accurate. Fuck them. 
For profit dialysis has been a problem since at least the mid 1990's. Their oversight is mostly based on self reporting.
What John didn't touch on is their tactic to bleed private insurance dry prior to the point when medicare coverage kicks in and/or becomes the primary payor. Not quite 100% in my opinion, but damn close.

Damnit! Sorry to see that you went through that kind of shit. I hope I don't get all the way to dialysis. I'm early stage CRF. I have an HMO, though, so maybe it would be different.

Geez they're in such a hurry they apparently don't even sterilize properly. I'm sorry that you are in a situation as to have to deal with this sort of thing.

I guess it's easier to barf up megabucks than to just fucking do the job right? Have they no shame or ethics? That money goes to the gov as fines instead of to the families who have lost loved ones, where it belongs. SMH in disbelief.

I was diagnosed for almost 5 years before I hit end stage. Unfortunately I didn't respond to any treatments (my uncle on my father's side, who has the same kidney disease, actually did respond to steroids and never had to go on dialysis) I hope things work out for you! There are some things that can be done to slow the progression.
