I don't know hammy. I like how you add the sounds incrementally as it goes along... I'm sure there's a word for that but I don't know what it is. But it sounds a little out of sync to me in places so therefore a bit random. But well done anyway... much more than I could do

Of course mine is punchier and Royksopp's is more subtle... but I was going for a similar sort of kick groove.

I can see the resemblance. Did you lower the decay in the drumsynth or sampler or did you squash it with compression?

Neither.

I looped the beat and interrupted it at certain points.

All the 'effects' on the song are actually done... without, effects really.

It's part of the minimalism. I normally use a lot more effects.

For me personally... the following is still my best song, and this is my usual style (and me at my best):
