It depends on what you get. The point is that it is a beginners gun. I've never had problems firing a glock and I always used the overused, undercleaned range glocks when I was in WA. There is a reason why a lot of gun enthusiasts have glocks. They are easy. I had a Smith & Wesson that liked to drop magazines when I fired. Now that was interesting.
Ah, this was my favorite.
I don't really use guns anymore and don't own any. I stopped even going to ranges when I started getting symptoms of OCD. Still, it was a lot of fun.

My father is a(n ex-)gun professional and won't touch them, but he can be a bit of a snob about things sometimes. Haha

Haha, my dad worked for Winchester Rifle for most of my life, but he just made them. He never kept them in the house. My ex's dad, my father-in-law of ten years, was a cop. Obviously, that is the typical issue, so I assume he carried one and know he owns one. Glock was the first firearm I ever fired. I preferred our guns, but I didn't always have a chance to grab them before going to the range, so I would often rent a glock, among other things. I imagine it isn't something you would purchase if you were a collector and my ex and I never bought them, but as a handy firearm, there are few better, in my opinion. It's sensationally easy to handle. That is the number one thing it has going for it. By comparison, the Smith and Wesson I just posted kicked like a fucking mule. The trigger took a ridiculous amount of pressure as well. Made it hard to time the shot. *shrugs*

My daddy-o was a fire arm instructor, salesman, reconstruction-guy and arms master He worked for the department of corrections (along with the majority of my family on both sides) as arsenal sergeant for about 25 years. He's the type of guy who gets a curator's license from the county so he can buy older weapons and restore them. He's a gun geek, if there is such a thing. XD I'm not sure what my first gun was. I was too young to care to pay attention. It was definitely a 9mm and I remember being terrified at first, but that's all I remember. My most memorable shoot was with some kind of high-powered Russian rifle (one of two he restored, but they weren't that bad off anyway). I wasn't aware that this wasn't a rifle like a .22 because I was, like, 14 at the time or something. I was laying in prone with the rifle propped up again a telephone pole they laid out for just the purpose. When I fired, the recoil kicked the gun up and it landed on my finger, which hurt. But not as much as the bruise in my shoulder-pocket-thing. My father must have been confident in my not shattering my collar bone. He and his work buddy thought it was hilarious. Since then, I've developed a shake and I can't hit the broad side of a barn with a rifle. 8D
I would've thrown that S&W out or at least send it out for repair. That shit is dangerous. What other stuff have you shot?

Haha, I got it repaired. My ex-husband started doing gun shows and gun repair when he got out of the ARMY. It was more funny than dangerous.
I've fired all kinds of rifles. I learned that I don't like shotguns. lol As far as handguns, glocks, Winchesters, the Smith and Wesson 30. The only thing I never got around to and wish I did was a six shooter. I could've fancied myself Roland. *sigh* Ah, well. Shit makes me nervous now. I'm going to have to get over it. Adrian wants to go to the range. I suppose I need to teach him how to hit a target.
An odd thing that never came up in the gun debates here is the availability of weapons in ranges. I needed absolutely no training or special id to walk into a range in Washington and rent a firearm. The first one I went to in Tacoma was closed for a week when a guy shot himself inside. I've always wondered how common that is.
