Yes, this is a church, one of a couple just a stone's throw from home, and almost everyone here is family, my sister, cousin and aunts mainly, though there's a couple of friends and neighbours. Before anyone gets too excited, this was part of the Esther Project, in which this church organisation (United Church of God or somesuch) collected food, usually frozen, from local supermarkets - Marks and Spencer, typically - which was nearing its display date and would thus have been thrown out. This food was then distributed among the low paid families of the area. When it began, we'd queue up outside to be let in a few at a time. Then when the weather got colder, we were allowed to sit inside instead. Gradually they worked up to playing Gospel music and showing 'inspirational' videos using a PC projector (one of them was that bloody Left Behind, would you believe!). There's a story behind what happened on their first anniversary, but I'll save that for another time. I'll just say that it was my idea and it made me feel just like that classic Homer Simpson line: "Great, I'll go shoot myself for bringing this up!"

Now here's one for you. Yes, me again, in my 'unbelievable hair' phase. But what's going on here?



I promise you that this is no Photoshop job, nor any other CGI or post-production thing. This is exactly what the camera saw. One woman of my Dad's acquaintance swears blind it's a photo of my soul. (Hint: it's not.)
