I had that moment at Trader Joe's on Sunday. Heavily preggers woman with a girl and a boy within a couple years of each other and she's hauling a shopping cart and a HUGE stroller and couldn't figure out what the fuck she was doing...and her husband was even there to help. I can't take it. It takes SOOOOO long to do anything when a kid is with you. It takes a long time when they're just AROUND you.

No thanks. Not for me.

Made me think of this story:

A very loud, grossly over-weight, and very unattractive woman walked into Walmart with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.

The Wal-Mart Greeter says, "Good morning, and welcome to Walmart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?"

The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say, "Hell no! They ain't no twins! Oldest one's nine, and the fat one's seven. Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?"

In a very pleasant tone, the greeter responded, "I'm neither blind nor stupid. I just couldn't believe that you got laid twice."

Seriously, I was going through a really depressed phase some years ago. I was having trouble with a sputtering relationship that was off-again-on-again and during the off-times I felt like no one did or ever would want me. At least, no one attainable. And I walked into wal-mart late one night to get some grocery shopping done and goddamn if there wasn't the fugliest couple I've ever seen hanging out in the frozen food section being all lovey-dovey.

Don't get me wrong - I think personality can cover a multitude of physical sins. But at least one of them stank of so much B.O. that it over powered the mitigating effects cold has on the nostrils. Basically, the freezers couldn't cover it, even at a distance.

I remember thinking, jesus, I bathe, I have all my shots, I rate at least a five, and I can't find someone...but they can?

Ugh. Someone told me it was because I was being "too picky" but I draw the line at B.O. for companionship.
