If you could enact laws into action to change society

RE: If you could enact laws into action to change society
1. It should take ten years to become a citizen of the United Kingdom, and the people of the area the person is settled in should be able to vote on whether that individual becomes a citizen. Sort of like the system in Switzerland.

2. The system should be changed from a representative/parliamentary democracy to a direct democracy, hence the need for a stronger immigration system.

3. Death penalty should be reintroduced for severe offences, particularly terrorism, murder and child molestation. The families of the victims should decide the method used in a vote. If, for example, firing squad wins the majority of votes then the convict would be shot.

1.  Fine idea if Britain becomes a tiny little land locked neutral statelet with three official languages.

I think we should remain neutral and recognised regional languages should be recognised as official languages. So yeah, Switzerland is a perfect example.

Perhaps, obviously there would need to be some restrictions in place. We can't have the majority voting to throw homosexuals off of buildings, for example.

Iran, actually.

1. Nobody named Mark ever gets to make any rule or law.
2. All Mark's get the benefit of the doubt when taking a MSE.
3. No religions are tax exempt.

Off the top of my head...

1) Every nation has to adhere to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. http://www.un.org/en/universal-declarati...index.html
2) Anyone who manufactures any product is responsible for the cost of safe disposal of that product and any byproducts. This includes emissions for example.
3) Complete elimination of all nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons.
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.

How would you enforce #1 and #3?

If you could enact laws into action to change society

What are those laws?

Personally, for me:

1 - Each woman may be allowed to only give birth to one child.
2 - College is free, but one must also maintain at least a part-time job while attending higher education.
3 - Each individual earns the same amount of money per week despite his job.

Let me guess, you are uneducated and don't make much money. You also want to control the birth rate so you don't have as much competition for your low paying menial task job.

Hardly, but nice try.

It is not silly at all.

What is silly is the greed that exists in this world.

If people truly care about other people, they take care of them without any kind of incentive.

I think what you're suggesting is called Communism Wink Maybe a nice ideal but never works.

And the other thing you said, about taking incentives and lack of sounds like how life works in Star Trek... ie no money just people doing their jobs for the good of all. Again a nice ideal, but like Communism I don't think it would ever work.

Not with that attitude.
