Regarding how much we know about Trump, his Twitter outrages, do you honestly believe him innocent in what he was conveying?

I have no way of knowing without evidence. I don't know when atheists abandoned this principle. I guess with the election of Trump?

But you have evidence. Trump has built his entire career on lies and intimidation (he even recommends intimidation as an effective business tactic in that book he imagines he wrote). He lied his way through the entire campaign, hasn't stopped lying, and continues his attempts to intimidate those he imagines as enemies (in Trump's mind, 'enemy' means 'those people who refuse to adore me').

Let's say you've got a dog, just one of those mutts who make such grand companions. Your dog has a sweet nature, but is in the habit of chewing your slippers. You've watched the dog chew slippers. Your family has watched the dog chew slippers. There are You Tube videos of the dog chewing slippers. The local news station got hold of the story and did a two-minute human interest piece about (you guessed it) your dog chewing your slippers. See where I'm going with this? Everyone knows that your dog chews slippers.

You come home late from work and there, in the middle of the carpet, is your brand new pair of badly chewed slippers. Sitting next to the slippers is your dog, looking as proud as if he'd invented Cat-Flavoured Puppy Snax. You look at the dog. You look at the slippers. Then back at the dog and think to yourself, 'Gosh, I wonder what happened to my slippers. I mean, it might be the dog, but I didn't see him do it, so I'm going to suspend judgement and wait for the evidence.'

Trump was making his preference known, and hoping that influenced Comey. That's my read. But it doesn't really matter.

There's just not enough there to do anything with regardless of the true intent.

What you really need to do, is make a list of things you'd have to assume to make the case. There are a lot of important parts that require a high level of confidence that just isn't supported at a high level.
