I really enjoyed the original Charmed. I started rewatching it a while back, but it takes a season or two before the stories advance beyond the stage of a timely rescue by a deus ex machina.
I added the new series 9-1-1 to my DVR queue. Given the previews, it looks like a show that I would enjoy. I haven't had time to watch it yet. I honestly think it had to do with Shannen Doherty. She seemed to be going through something personal that simply affected her acting and her relationships with other actors. The show improved when Rose McGowan appeared. Interestingly, Light as a Feather has a higher rating than the new Charmed.
