I wonder why the artist simply didn't show Mary M. lifting his hand away from his body to kiss it to make it more obvious. The first thing I noticed was that her head was unusually close to his crotch, as if that was really what the artist meant to emphasize. Why would he do that?

No, I noticed it right of, I do not keep my mind in the gutter. Who knows why he painted it the way he did, as the artist it was his prerogative, but I would bet his intention wasn't what the atheist here wanted to see. Yes, you wanted to see it because of your hatred of Christianity.

According the the biblical fairy tale those artists are going to hell & the lake of fire in the express lane.

Exodus 20:4-5 (ERV) = 4 “You must not make any idols. Don’t make any statues or pictures of anything up in the sky or of anything on the earth or of anything down in the water. 5 Don’t worship or serve idols of any kind, because I, the Lord, am your God. I hate my people worshiping other gods. People who sin against me become my enemies, and I will punish them. And I will punish their children, their grandchildren, and even their great-grandchildren"

What about imaginary things?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Hatred is probably the wrong word. I just consider it lunacy.

I'd prefer to call it disinformation...and if you do some really deep digging into xtianity, you will find out about the mushroom consumption during services. Of course, that isn't in the buy-bull, or in any sermon you may ever see, so it didn't happen (?). You're following a will o' the wisp, you've had it spoon-fed to you your entire life. I challenge you to pick up some books about the historicity of religion; I'd specifically recommend Man, Myth and Magic.

Again your lack of biblical understanding is horrendous, the paintings are not idols, they portray a biblical event and no one is worshiping them, the artist never intend them for that use. Cherry picker.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

So the passage doesn't say = "Don’t make any statues or pictures of anything up in the sky or of anything on the earth or of anything down in the water."?

I see the lake of fire in your future.  Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews and the God of the armies, hates artwork.

And you don't have one of these (or something very similar) in your church? Your House? Maybe hanging on your neck? Rocking on your dashboard?

I think maybe some of the worst icons in xtianity are the torture porn figures.

I fairly sure that before to long we'll hear either "those are not idols" or "we don't worship them".

Look at the walls and stained glass of an old church and what do you see depicted? Pain agony and death. Look at the congregation, families with their kids age four years and up, staring at those horrors with expressions of sometimes bemusement, or mostly terror. That was a major part of my catholic 'education'.
There has to be something profoundly wrong with homo sapiens that so many of us are so easily corrupted this way. What a great pity there's no hell for the priesthood to burn in.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

There are more idols at the Vatican than there are cobblestones in the square.
