damn, what is more stupid?

Astrology, LDS or Scientology ?

Jesus Fucking Christ, don't make me pick just one.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

LDS and Scientology are tied for the dumbest. They were both started by con men who either knew better or were just mentally ill. Astrology is many centuries old and emerged from people who were seeking answers yet didn't know what things like stars really were. I'll give them a pass.

But people today who still believe in astrology as more than just a gag? They're as dumb as the others, since they should know better.

(I'm an Aries, btw)

I have been reading up on studies done on mice a lot. Morbid, sorta yeah, but you can Learn a lot about environmental factors and how they affect genetics even before you were conceived (like your mum and dads lifestyles and experiemces). Their genetics and your grandparents play a role in who you are, too. Those are just knowns.

Here's me postulating.
Imagine you're a November baby. You were probably conceived around Christmas/ New Years. a happy time, no? She then goes through the peak of her pregnancy in summer/fall. In olden days that would seem advantageous since winter is depressing and food is lean! Nowadays shouldn't matter too much but there is something to be said about some people with seqsonal affective disorder aka SAD. So.. when I think about horoscopes and whatnot I'm not willing to brush off completely the shared experiences of so many groups of people, and although I myself discount horoscopes as being too generalized to hold any water--I don't think that it's out of the realm of possibility for groups of people to be affected by the environmental factors they were born into/following.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I agree Luckie, the fact that when I learned to walk, it was sunny summertime and not rainy february where it doesn't ever get quite daylight, that can very plausibly have affected parts of my personality.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

RE: Zodiac
I used to believe in astrology. I followed my horoscope every day and couldn't believe how accurate it could be. One day I'm discussing it with a friend and she told me that I was looking at the wrong sign the entire time....
