The Eclipse, the Eclipse!!
RE: The Eclipse, the Eclipse!!
Watching NASA TV live coverage from Oregon. CD, can you please wave when you see a camera?
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I get the fascination with the eclipse, but some people are fucking stupid paying what they have to have a hotel room. Just watching a story at a stadium where some idiots paid 10K and guess what, it is cloudy in any case.

I would have seen a partial eclipse outside my house, but it is cloudy. This is the fucking problem with America, not the differences in price of anything, but the outrageous gap. I get a little inequity, but 700 for a hotel room? 10K for a stadium seat for what? And many in this path still got screwed by bad weather.

Can't see it from here.  I don't really give two shits and a popsicle about eclipses in other places.

I'm watching it on a live feed. My own area will see about 77% of the eclipse. Still fascinating to see.

I get the fascination from the science perspective. Certainly far better than valuing celebrity crap like Jerry Springer or Fuck Dumbnasty. But having seen all the outrages prices people are paying is a bit sad to me. It isn't the going or doing even, it is that others are gouging people for purely greedy reasons. Why cant business learn to make money without being flat out fucking greedy all the time?

I grasp your point, but I've never really managed to get worked up over the inevitable.

The weather cleared long enough for the entire eclipse. We ended up viewing from Dad's driveway. Totality was breathtaking, the corona was amazing. We saw Jupiter and Venus and many stars. The preceived temperature dropped very noticeable. The entire experience was sublime and uneffable.

We're going to make plans.for 2024, perhaps in Austin and we might go to the one I'm Argentina in a couple years
