When you tell them your an atheist they might just be relieved.
The dress thingy might not work, not with her being a girl and everything

HAHAha, keep trying downbeatplumb! I'm also gay, and they know it. So dressing as K.D. lang might just be like any other day
In fact, my brother outed me the first time... maybe I'll "accidentally" leave some evidence around like last time.
No, j/k. Thanks for the advice everyone. I like the idea of asking my mom and sister about their interest in the 'Case for...' books. See what they say, and go from there.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

It's easy for me to just say if you want them to know then tell them. But obviously I'm in a different situation, my mum believes there is "something" after death but she too hates organised religion, and I live in England in a area that was deemed by a local priest "the most godless city in Britain", so being an Atheist really isn't seen as a big deal here. But I'd hope as family they would rather you be open and honest with them as opposed to being someone you're not.
On a side note, most people loved being labelled as living in a godless city, we have fairly low levels of violent crime, a very culturally diverse city, a highly artisitc and musically talented city and are the gay capital of the uk...so if that's what being godless is all about then bring it on! (also we are the drug death capital, but we'll just ignore that bit as drugs are fun as long as you don't die)

Whenever I talk to to Brits, they hate the place and so violence is rampant?
Its ok to have doubt, just dont let that doubt become the answers.
You dont hate God, you hate the church game.

Otherwise honey...just be yourself as hard as you can be and to 'hel with everone else'....at the end of the day YOU are the only one that has to live with YOU

Maybe instead of baldly stating that you are an atheist you should start by exploring her feelings on the subject.
A much more intuitive approach, I agree. With this method you can please your hunger for confronting the issue.
