Gift Registry

RE: Gift Registry
Why the hell are wedding "gifts" even expected? Retail convention?

Why are "thank you notes" expected?

RE: Gift Registry
I expect a thank you note.

Lord knows I've sent a bunch in my life.

I guess I shouldn't sound peevish there, I frequently enjoy passing out an accolade from time to time. Saw a "little old lady" pulling weeds in a park in north O the other day, asked her if she was a volunteer and she said yes. I gave her a $5 MickeyD gift card. Don't hurt to encourage civilized behavior. Had an Ebay retailer recently go the extra mile for me, and he's getting another MickeyD card.

RE: Gift Registry
Thank you notes are a must!!! It is you formally saying thank you after all the chaos that was the wedding day. You should never open gifts in front of people therefore you hadn't had a moment to thank the person for gifting it to you. You get a chance to mention something personal about them at the wedding as well to tell them that they weren't just another face in the crowd and you appreciated them taking the time and effort to make it to your event.

Also if your signature makes my scrolling mess up "you're tacky and I hate you."

I feed you, set up a dance party and got you drunk and I get a sand candle? Piss off.
