I saw an opinion piece, I'll give you that.

Alpha is on record as supporting affirmative action to help minorities out of poverty. But Alpha understands that when a group - be it males or blacks - commit violent crimes at higher frequency than other groups, they will also have violent encounters with police at higher frequency than other groups. It's obvious that groups which commit more violent crime are more likely to have encounters with police. I don't hear you denying that with respect to male v. female. They don't just murder blacks at a higher rate with firearms, they get shot in the back, they get choked to death, and they even die in cells after being falsely arrested over a minor traffic ticket. Alpha's solution? Don't be black in public. RE: What is the controversy surrounding #takeaknee

Yes, I do, and I've explained why - once police need to step in, the WHY no longer matters. It's just the WHAT that matters at that point. Remember, Kaepernick was mainly protesting the police - "There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder." Racist policing is the problem. A community constantly under the thread of racist policing, won't possess the respect for police that you and they feel they deserve. Respect is earned, not merely given. So no, you don't acknowledge the real problems nor do you acknowledge that racist policing can't lead to legitimate policing. You need to mature your arguments. ![]() (September 29, 2017 at 10:01 am)Brian37 Wrote: They don't just murder blacks at a higher rate with firearms, they get shot in the back, they get choked to death, and they even die in cells after being falsely arrested over a minor traffic ticket. White privilege isn't the only issue at hand when it comes to racism in the US. Minorities being racially profiled and treated with racial prejudice by people who are supposed to be peace officers, is the topic at hand. Those same peace officers unequivocally murdering minorities for seemingly no other reason or justification than "I was scared" is the issue at hand. If they are too scared to do their job correctly and objectively, then they need to get into another profession where they aren't equipped with the means and authority to harm innocent citizens. ![]() (September 29, 2017 at 10:07 am)TheBeardedDude Wrote: Racist policing is the problem. So men are 95% of deaths because sexist policing is the problem? You keep ignoring this fact which blows away your simplistic stats argument. RE: What is the controversy surrounding #takeaknee

Better training for police that includes more than just teaching them how to kill people. Teaching them how to deal with the mentally ill is one good step forward. Getting rid of the racist cops is another good step (the FBI has known for sometime that local police forces have been intentionally infiltrated by racist groups). Homogenizing training across the US is another good step. Body cameras being used and not abused is another good step. And perhaps most importantly, recognizing the systemic problems in society at large that promote inequality and culling them. Such as the unequal funding of schools in areas with large minority populations. That is a straw man of what I actually said. Men being killed because of the perception of them being a larger and more significant threat is still NOT the topic at hand. This men's rights bullshit is another topic entirely. ![]() |
