It's no red herring. It's obvious that groups which commit more violent crime are more likely to have encounters with police. I don't hear you denying that with respect to male v. female.

I don't see these cops shooting down the white people they encounter during a given shift; it's just the black people they're gunning down.  Can you explain that?

Respect is earned, not merely given. So no, you don't acknowledge the real problems nor do you acknowledge that racist policing can't lead to legitimate policing. You need to mature your arguments.

I'd say that acknowledging white privilege certainly acknowledges inherent racism.

White privilege isn't the only issue at hand when it comes to racism in the US. Minorities being racially profiled and treated with racial prejudice by people who are supposed to be peace officers, is the topic at hand. Those same peace officers unequivocally murdering minorities for seemingly no other reason or justification than "I was scared" is the issue at hand. If they are too scared to do their job correctly and objectively, then they need to get into another profession where they aren't equipped with the means and authority to harm innocent citizens.

What's your solution Brian? If you guys came up with something more than Derp racism are bad  I might be able to support you.

Better training for police that includes more than just teaching them how to kill people. Teaching them how to deal with the mentally ill is one good step forward. Getting rid of the racist cops is another good step (the FBI has known for sometime that local police forces have been intentionally infiltrated by racist groups). Homogenizing training across the US is another good step. Body cameras being used and not abused is another good step. And perhaps most importantly, recognizing the systemic problems in society at large that promote inequality and culling them. Such as the unequal funding of schools in areas with large minority populations.

That is a straw man of what I actually said. Men being killed because of the perception of them being a larger and more significant threat is still NOT the topic at hand. This men's rights bullshit is another topic entirely.
