It's never entered my head to join any sort of atheist group.
'How can you know if someone is an atheist?' 'They'll soon tell you.'
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

Religitards have been using this jesus prop of theirs to show how fucking wonderful they think they are for centuries.  Church soup kitchen?  Sure.  "Here's a spoonful of soup and an earful of jesus.  Aren't we wonderful?"  Fuck them.

I see nothing wrong with turning this on them.  At least atheists could be expected to just give the soup without a side of jesus.

Given we're the most reviled minority on the fucking planet, yeah, I think it's a good thing to throw in the mocking faces of moronic religious cocksuckers that they don't have a monopoly on doing the right thing. If only it was possible to convey concisely that we're doing it because it's the right thing to do and not because we're greedily anticipating heaven or avoiding hell like cowards.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

---

There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.

I hope you do as much good on your own as you would have supporting that group.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

So long as the help is delivered, is it really important why it is delivered? Does the hungry person turn away a meal because he's skeptical of the donor's motives?

Hungry folks can't eat reasonable argumentation. Talk all you want, they'll still be hungry.

I'm just thankful hungry people are getting fed. No reason to be all negative and crap on the group's motive for doing a good deed.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I just think it's bad form to advertise yourself as doing something because you want to prove that you're a moral person.

I understand the frustration Bahana.  If a black guy felt compelled to unzip his pants just to show that he had a normal sized penis over and over and over it would be dignifying the ignorance of the stereotyping group with a response.  The ammoral atheist is a big black dong.  A fact free story started by bigots to advance their bigoted agenda.  I have no interest in unzipping my pants.

I can see why, if it were important to or for someone to recognize this particular fact, they would want to be involved in explicit action to that effect.   I  just don't care what a bigot thinks about me, and I don't share the hope or expectation that a bigot will ever change their mind on account of a soup kitchen.  Known too many bigots to hold out for that one.

I see what you mean, but I guess I just don't have a problem with it even if that were true.

I wouldn't have a problem if they advertised that they were only doing it to get a tax break, or that they were only doing it to seduce Carl into thinking they're good boyfriend material. If people are feeding the hungry, I don't care why. I don't care if they need to advertise why or not. Hungry people probably don't care either.
