I thought Republican tax policy was rather simple:
Taxing rich people and people that vote for us bad.
Tax anybody else, fine with us.
The Tories like these ideas here too.

They don't mind taxing the shit out of people who vote for them. They've been convincing their base to support initiatives counter to their own interests for decades. R voters absorb the cost of corporate and wealthy welfare.

What, you mean they can't agree on how to fuck over the poor?
I guess partly because they have to pretend to give a fuck about fiscal responsibility. I'm sure they've considered taxing the poor 100%, but they're scared that'll lead to a civil war. (cause it fucking would)
