As far as I know, the Church of Scientology isn't the religion that has its grubby hands the most into politics. So I'm not sure why anyone feels they need to lose tax exemption. It should be the evangelical christians.

I'm not a tax attorney, but it strikes me hilarious that if Scientology is deemed no longer a religion and they reconstitute as a country club or professional organization of some kind and it turns out the tax situation improves, they will start suing the IRS to make their change retro-active.
I'd love to see a forensic audit of Mar-a-largo, for instance. And have experts see if they're making it work better dollar for dollar than the fucking Scientologists.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Congress is currently reviewing whether to allow FEMA to pay churches for structural repairs after disasters. Currently the law says no. If they were all paying into the funding that FEMA gets money from, then I'd agree to give them some. Tax them all, if they expect the secular government to help out. Scientology shouldn't be the only one.
