Dad told me once that I should marry a christian and he insists that he doesn't have any problem with pentecostals, since they also pray to Jesus. So I thought he views Christianity as superior to other religions. Today I asked my mom about that and she replied that he doesn't consider Christianity as superior. The reason why he thinks I should marry a christian is because he would have more things in common with me, since we were both raised christians. She also said that dad sometimes gives commands without justifying them, so that's the reason why I didn't understand.
So yeah, I was wrong. Everybody makes mistakes.
My family is christian because it makes them feel happy, they like to imagine that a god exists, they like the traditions, but I don't. I am gratefull that they're not fundamentalists, they are not going to fear that I'll burn in Hell when I'll tell them I'm atheist, but it will still be hard.
How can someone who is very different from the family cope with that?
